Utsqinari Family Winery was founded in 2017. The winery produces natural qvevri wines made using traditional Kakhetian technology from five core varieties — Khikhvi, Kisi, Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi — plus Rachuli Tetra. The vineyards are planted in two regions: Kakheti, in the village of Maghraani (Akhmeta, 500 m above sea level), and Racha, in the village of Sadmeli (Ambrolauri, 760 m above sea level). The wine is made with the whole family taking part, using traditional qvevri technology — the family's winemaking tradition goes back more than half a century, though the winery as a business was founded in 2017, when a long-held wish for true Georgian qvevri winemaking was finally realized.
